We love Guinea, and we love our people.

What we're most proud of is that amidst the problems of our country, we can come together and make strides towards the betterment of our people.

In keeping with this spirit, our annual fundraising campaign will focus on directly improving the health of our people.

Fundraiser goal: We are hoping to raise $15,000 to be used to outfit the clinic, improve its functionality, and sustain the healthcare provided. We thank you for your donations and partnering with us to care for the people of Guinea through healthcare.

We need you; together, we can raise money to redefine the health of our people.

Our fundraiser seeks to equip a health clinic for the people living in the district of Dubreka located in the mountainous region of Coyah in Guinea. This fundraiser for the pediatric health center will provide and/or expand access to:

  • A clinic to provide basic health services
  • A center where people with more serious health issues or people coming from very remote areas and surrounding communities will be hosted.
  • A skilled doctor and pediatric oversight
  • A referral network to community and regional hospitals
  • A well to supply the center with clean and drinkable water
  • A solar panel to provide electricity to the clinic and the residence.

About the fundraiser: We are working with Hope Ignited, Inc and Anglican Church of Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to equip a pediatric health clinic and create a health sustainability fund in the district of Dubreka located in the mountainous region of Coyah in Guinea.

About the clinic: The Anglican Clinic of Dubreka was built in 2019 through a partnership between the Anglican Diocese of Guinea and Guinea-Bissau and Hope Ignited, Inc (non-profit), and the head physician, Dr. Diallo, who was trained by Hope Ignited physicians over a 6-month period in the field of pediatrics to improve his knowledge and recognition of common childhood diseases. The clinic includes space for a pharmacy, a laboratory, an observation room, and 5 consultation rooms. It is slated to reopen soon after a long period of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal is to provide basic exam tools, laboratory equipment, and pharmacy staples to boost the capacity of the clinic to care for the surrounding community.
The clinic has not opened to patients yet because they really don't have what they need to do basic patient care. With our fundraiser, the clinic can finally open! Once open, Dr. Diallo will see around 25-50 patients a day, a number we know will increase if we can better equip the clinic. One of Hope Ignited’s pediatricians will begin working in the clinic this summer to help ensure adequate supervision and management of the clinic and to oversee the installation of new equipment and utilization of medications.

Rationale: Having a more accessible health center that will also emphasize prevention by educating the local population will significantly improve health conditions in the district and the surrounding villages. Most importantly, it will significantly decrease deaths from treatable diseases and complications. The main goal of the health clinic is to facilitate access to care to the hardworking population of Dubreka and the surrounding region in order to reduce mortality from treatable diseases. The clinic will provide treatment for malaria, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, and waterborne diseases. The center will also provide care for children and may act as a center for preventative health, hygiene and nutritional health training, especially for women.

We are seeking a total of $15,000 for this project . This amount will cover the costs of building and equipping the health center and to supply it with electricity and potable water, landscaping, and sanitation. Since the community has taken responsibility for the project with our help, Hope Ignited has guaranteed staffing once it is completed through our help.

Dates: Our fundraiser will go from August to November 2021.
