The Olive Tree is the first and only Gay Bar in Logan County, OH, in downtown Bellefontaine. The Olive Tree opened during the heat of Covid in June 2020 and transitioned into a gay bar in September 2022. Since September, we have been blessed with the majority of community support and take pride in providing the safe space we believe our city desperately needs.

In the past couple of weeks, the LGBT+ community has taken a hit, affecting all of us. From the devastating news from Club Q, The threat of Proud Boys near us just in Columbus, and the Director of Homeland Security's announcement put a terrorist warning out on the LGBT+ community. The Olive Tree is quickly acting upon additional security demands to ensure our patrons feel safer and more comfortable.

Safety has always been our priority, and we believe these measures will enhance our strict safety protocols.

1. Tinted Windows. We have over 380 square feet of window space needing to be tinted. This project, as of now, will cost around $3,700. edit: Thankful for an outside source we are looking to complete this project at a significant fraction of the original quote.

2. I.D. Scanner. The scanner recommended for our purpose is upwards of $1,000.

3. Bouncers and additional in-person security at events. Rates for this kind of security can be upwards of $35 an hour or more.

We believe these three elements will help tremendously, and we need your help to make this happen ASAP.
