I'm Anthony, I’m a former Army Ranger, and I need your help. Not for me, but for homeless veterans. I've developed Project Step to end veteran homelessness and curb the 22-40 veteran suicides a day. I think the issues are interrelated. I’m not giving them a place to live. With volunteer tradespeople, like with Habitat for Humanity, the veterans will work alongside to build their own one-story apartment. Unlike problems with public housing where people are just given a place and therefore have no “skin in the game,” I feel this is why there are so many issues with public housing. This will also give the veterans a marketable entry-level trade: carpentry, electrical, HVAC, masonry, etc. For necessary materials, I will engage with Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart for donations in exchange for advertising consideration. I will also apply for grants from the VA and other entities. One of the primary uses of donations will be to secure land for this project. This is not a one-off. As the first one is underway, more will be started in various regions. I am applying for a 501(c)(3) designation. Once received, these will qualify as charitable contributions. Your help will be the cornerstone of this project. These service people stood up for you without being asked. They need us now. This is a hand up, not a handout. Thank you.
