Recently, I had a negative interaction with another CPR instructor who thought "it was funny" to have female CPR mannequins and they "could never" because their class would be laughing. (At boobs)
But here's the facts:
Women are LESS likely to receive CPR from a bystander for that reason. Their is still a stigma that people believe they could be sued for sexual harassment. But if you are trying to help, you will be protected under bystander laws.
To help end this stigma and help people feel more comfortable with the process (example, removing bra to apply AED pads) I would like to purchase female mannequins to teach my classes from here on out.
If you're not comfortable using a female mannequin to practice on, I'm not comfortable giving you a certification.
I keep the cost of my CPR classes at a low, affordable cost so that everyone has the chance to learn CPR.
Depending on how much is raised, is what I will purchase. I al also looking to purchase infant mannequins.
$100- 1 infant mannequin
$200- 1 female mannequin
$700- 4 female mannequins
$1300- 4 female and 4 infant mannequins
Thank you for your consideration
