Hi everyone, I ran into a huge financial setback during tour, my van’s transmission gave out in Boise, ID (literally our third show) This van was my pride and joy — bought it just 7 months ago for $9,000 — and it’s been our lifeline for getting to shows. I thought this van would last me 2-3 years but unfortunately, it can’t make it back home to Chicago without major repairs.

Instead of canceling the shows, we scrambled to rent a van to finish the tour, which cost us $2,000 we didn’t budget for. Now, when I get home, I still have to figure out how to get my broken van shipped back from Boise and repaired. It’s a heavy unexpected hit for a DIY solo artist like me.

We’ve been grinding hard on the road, playing our hearts out every night, selling merch, meeting people, and making this tour happen. But this breakdown is one of those curveballs you just can’t fully prepare for.
