Help Empower Youth In Need All Year in Lawrence Heights

Hey Everyone, I hope all is well :)

My name is Trevaun Douglas, and I’m the organizer of this fundraiser and the founder of Mind On Strength, a grassroots youth empowerment initiative based in Lawrence Heights, Toronto.

Over the past few years, I’ve been organizing community programs to support youth and families through mentorship, movement, education, and healing. What started as small back-to-school giveaways has grown into year-round programming focused on helping youth rise above adversity and unlock their full potential.

This fundraiser is not just for back-to-school, it’s about building a full year of opportunity and support for youth who need it most.

Specifically, your support will help provide:

1) Back-to-school essentials – Backpacks, notebooks, and school supplies

2) Sneakers and clothing – Proper gear for school and physical activities

3) Haircuts and braids – To help kids feel fresh and confident

4) Grocery cards and emergency food boxes – For struggling families

5) Mental health resources – Safe spaces, healing circles, and support

6) Youth field trips & retreats – To explore, reflect, and grow outside their neighborhood

7) Lawrence Heights Youth Run Club – A community-based program helping youth develop leadership, fitness, and discipline

8) Experiential learning & enrichment – Chess, spelling bees, workshops, financial literacy, and life skills

9) Scholarships and bursaries – For education, training, and post-secondary support

10) Community events – Like Hoops & Harmony and creative safe-space gatherings

Our goal this year is to raise $50,000 to sustain these programs throughout the year and ensure no youth is left behind due to lack of resources.

We’ve already begun our back-to-school efforts, and now we’re building toward a full year of support, growth, and transformation.
