Help Emmanuel in Kenya with his education costs
Donation protected
My name is David McNab. I am a retired police officer, now teaching at a university in Peterborough, Ontario. I have become friends with a young farmer in Kenya, Africa named Naomy. For almost four years, my wife and I have been talking with her and her grandparents regularly on video calls and phone calls about our life in our home countries, as well as our common interests, especially gardening and farming. They are wonderful people and they work as hard as possible but one of the expenses that they struggle with is the cost of school for 12 year old Emmanuel. Naomy began caring for him when he was two years old, after he was abandoned by his parents. Naomy's compassion and generosity greatly impressed me. Emmanuel's determination to study and finish an education has also impressed me. With the help of a few local farmers over the past three years, and now, with very generous assistance from the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, we have been able to create a scholarship fund that will cover Emmanuel's tuition fees until he graduates from high school in six more years. I was deeply touched by the generosity of a farm community in Canada having a life-changing impact on a deserving family across the world.
Emmanuel's future is much brighter now, but we could use a little help with the extra costs for Emmanuel to succeed. He walks 3km each way to school and home on a rocky dirt road that quickly wears down his shoes. They are cracked and worn before the year is over. I'm asking for any assistance you care to provide so that we could buy Emmanuel shoes and school supplies such as pencils. If we are really lucky, we could also get him a bicycle to make this daily commute a little easier. This would be Emmanuel's first bike ever.
I would be happy to answer any questions about this fundraiser or this family. I can be easily reached through social media (FB).
Please help us complete our goal to secure Emmanuel's future and give him the chance that he deserves.
Thank you.
