Meet Emma: A Bright and Spirited Six-Year-Old
Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to learn about my wonderful daughter, Emma. She is a six-year-old ray of sunshine who, despite facing several challenges, never stops smiling. Emma has cerebral palsy, which affects her mobility and necessitates the use of a wheelchair. She also has a rare genetic condition called deletion of chromosome 15q, resulting in cognitive delays. Even though she can’t communicate using words, Emma radiates happiness and finds joy in every moment.
Emma attends Strafford Elementary School, where she loves wheeling herself through the halls and sharing high-fives with all her friends. Being around others truly makes her day—she lights up whenever she’s in the thick of social activity!
We’ve started this GoFundMe in hopes of raising funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van. Having reliable, accessible transportation will allow Emma to continue exploring her community, attending school events, visiting friends, and engaging with the world around her in a more inclusive way.
As a family, we have faced the reality that caring for a child with special needs can be expensive. I recently left my higher-paying job to become Emma’s full-time Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA). While I wouldn’t trade this time with her for anything, it has made our finances tighter. Any contribution—no matter the amount—will go directly toward the down payment and modifications for a van equipped to safely transport Emma.
Your support will have a direct impact on Emma’s quality of life. It will help her stay active, social, and, most importantly, happy. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading her story and considering a donation. If you can’t donate at this time, we appreciate you sharing her story with others. Every little bit helps move us closer to giving Emma the freedom and accessibility she deserves.
Thank you for being part of Emma’s journey!
