Hello,
My name is Emma and if you’re here you probably know my story already, but in case you don’t, here’s a summary.
I’m a recently divorced, immigrant, disabled trans woman living with my seven year old son. In recent years my degenerative disabilities have gotten to a point where it’s impossible for me to sustain a job so I was forced to turn my hobby of streaming on Twitch into my sole income and for almost two years it worked out with the help of amazing people in the community but ever since March my income has dropped about 80% and the monthly bills are piling up.
To add to that are
- divorce expenses
- unexpected high taxes
- costs related to my transition
- bills that I was told would be covered by insurance but now I’m being told they will be “covered eventually” but I have to pay them first
- medical bills for care I had to go outside of my insurance for, because the doctors who were part of the insurance turned out to be transphobic.
Right now the bills stand at about €6000 to cover all the expenses but new bills will be coming up in 2 weeks.
I am currently once again trying to get government support but I keep being told that I first need to stop streaming (the only thing that brings me income) and then wait an “undetermined amount of time before I can request assistance” so I set the goal at €10000 in the hopes of having a little extra to keep food on the table until I find a solution to my situation.
If you can (comfortably) donate I would be eternally thankful. Of course I don’t want to lose my home but most of all I don’t want to lose my son; he’s my whole world.
Thank you for reading.
Sincerely,
Emma
