Hi, my name is Emily and I am a 3rd-year law student at the University of Richmond School of Law. Currently, I am working as a research assistant for the Access to Justice Clinic and serving as the Editor in Chief for the University of Richmond Public Interest Law Review.
At the beginning of this year, family issues required I move back to Maryland to help take care of my 1-year-old niece. Thankfully, the administration at UR Law supported me in a visiting semester at the University of Baltimore School of Law this spring so I could stay on track to graduate in May 2027. Sadly, I may be unable to complete my education, or may need to take an additional year off, if I cannot make my car payment and fix a significant engine issue, as well as sustain myself.
Between my car payment and repair, I need an additional $3,000 if I want to be financially stable and make it to Richmond at the start of the semester. I am very grateful for any generosity and I hope to repay this debt by being a people’s advocate and attorney in Maryland through pro-bono legal clinics or the office of the public defender.
