<div>Hi, my name is Emily and I am a 3rd-year law student at the University of Richmond School of Law. Currently, I am working as a research assistant for the Access to Justice Clinic and serving as the Editor in Chief for the University of Richmond Public Interest Law Review.

<div>At the beginning of this year, family issues required I move back to Maryland to help take care of my 1-year-old niece. Thankfully, the administration at UR Law supported me in a visiting semester at the University of Baltimore School of Law this spring so I could stay on track to graduate in May 2027. Sadly, <strong>I </strong>may be unable to complete my education, or may need to take an additional year off, if I cannot make my car payment and fix a significant engine issue, as well as sustain myself.

<div>Between my car payment and repair, I need an additional $3,000 if I want to be financially stable and make it to Richmond at the start of the semester. I am very grateful for any generosity and I hope to repay this debt by being a people’s advocate and attorney in Maryland through pro-bono legal clinics or the office of the public defender.
