For my Elective Placement, as part of my MSc Physiotherapy degree, I will be travelling to Ghana, Africa, for four weeks to volunteer and support the rehabilitation of both children and adults in hospitals and within the local community.
This placement is in partnership with Work the World, an organisation that specialises in arranging overseas clinical placements for healthcare students and graduates in low-resource settings.
This opportunity is more than just a placement. It is a chance for me to use my skills to make a meaningful impact in a part of the world where access to physiotherapy is limited. The rehabilitation I will be providing will help people manage and recover from life-limiting conditions, ultimately improving their quality of life.
As a compassionate and empathetic individual, I have a heart for people and a deep passion for helping others, and I am committed to contributing to better health outcomes.
In addition to raising funds to support my trip, I am also hoping to fundraise for essential medical equipment and rehabilitation materials for the hospitals and clinics I will be working in.
If you would like to support me on this journey, whether through a donation, sharing my fundraiser, or sending words of encouragement, I would be incredibly grateful. I will be grateful for all contributions, no matter the size.
