On November 5th, 2025, at around 2 p.m., I received a phone call from my dad informing me that ICE agents had surrounded his workplace in Rogers Park. He was racially profiled and approached by agents who questioned him about his legal status. They ultimately detained him, leaving his car and personal belongings behind.
The money raised so far has been used to retain the attorney who is representing Emilio. However, we are currently struggling to cover major expenses such as housing and our family car. My brother is able to cover our monthly utility bills and food, but it is not enough to manage these larger financial responsibilities. We are now facing the very real fear of losing our home, as our father previously worked two jobs to keep up with these bills.
We are doing everything we can to stay afloat while we wait to hear whether Emilio will be granted bond this week. Any continued support, whether through donations or sharing our story, means the world to our family during this incredibly uncertain time.
