On June 22nd our little 6 year old nephew Emilian had his second open heart surgery scheduled for his hypoplastic left heart syndrome. According to the doctors and surgeons everything went perfect with the heart surgery and 8 hours later Emilian was joined together with his parents in the PICU. The following morning he was more alert, talking, smiling, sitting up to even play with his legos.

Later that evening after being transferred to the recovery floor, Emilian’s parents started to notice something was off. Emilian looked like he was in pain more then usually expected after a heart surgery and had an agonizing cry greater than any of us could’ve ever imagined. After a few days of his parents asking for doctors to check if this was a normal way of recovery, they finally agreed to do a ct-scan & it was discovered that he had experienced multiple strokes to the brain.

On Saturday June 27th he was rushed into emergency brain surgery to release spinal fluid/bleeding & swelling of the brain. After multiple MRI scans, lots of prayer & help from his new care team Emilian is becoming more awake and showing great signs of improvement that took the whole care team by surprise! Talk about God still doing miracles!

There is still a very lengthy road to recovery with many hardships ahead. But we know with our God, anything is possible. We know our words will truly never be enough to express our deepest gratitude to all of you for continuously lifting Emilian in prayer & all the support they’ve experienced in so many ways. We ask that you continue to pray alongside us for a true Miracle to be done in Emilian’s life & for him to be blessed with a full recovery! Also please keep praying so that Daniel & Elvi remain strong in the Lord during this challenging time. And lastly, we ask that you prayerfully consider donating whatever amount God puts on your heart. As both Daniel & Elvi are taking time off from work for the unforeseen future to help the long road to recovery in the hospital till they get to go home.

Thank you all so much & May God bless you!
