“I lived life in fear of being taken away from my daughters, their home, my family, my friends, my life.” - Elza Sánchez
I’m setting up this go fund me on behave of my lifelong friend Elza Sánchez. I'm doing this to help her raise money to be able to apply for her green card. Our first goal is $1500, but our real goal is $3000. Anything you can donate helps! She is an incredible human who deserves to be able to live without fear… The fear of being taken away at any time from the only life she's known now. Allow me to introduce you to her:
Hola soy Elza,
A mother, daughter, sister, friend, creative, business owner, and most importantly dreamer.
I was born and raised for half my life in Michoacán, Mexico and crossed the border with my mom and my 2 year old brother 20 years ago con sueños de una vida mejor. Dejando atras familia, cultura y muchas memorias.
Living with no "Legal Status" has been challenging in so many ways...
I lived life in a bubble...
hiding part of who I am. With no voice.
Undocumented immigrants walk a very hard path, with many obstacles...
and yet we work hard, build, grow, help, love, and embrace this new life.
I lived life in fear of being taken away from my daughters, their home, my family, my friends, and my life.
For 20 years I had to live with no "Legal Status" but my life is about to change. I can finally apply for my green card and live the life a dream of... freely, with no fear.
