Michael died at just 21. He had already endured so much loss in his lifetime, losing his beloved aunt and uncle at an early age and his grandfather just this Christmas. On the cusp of becoming a man, he died unexpectedly. Thankfully, he left this world peacefully in his sleep. He was happy and excited for his future. He died knowing he was loved by those that knew him.

Mike loved with his whole heart. Like his grandfather, he loved computers and technology. He loved Lake George, swimming and fishing, and getting scuba certified together. He loved to ride his 4-wheeler in the woods. He loved the ocean. His love for animals was beyond compare. He never met a dog he didn’t want to pet. Some dogs don’t like new people but somehow that never mattered to Mike and they became his friend anyway. Fortunately, all dogs go to heaven where I’m sure Michael will greet them all with love. He was the sweetest kid; as much as he could tease, it was never cruel. He was compassionate beyond his years when others needed someone like him. He was truly kind and sweet he saw the good in everyone and knew that what made them different is what made them special too.

His loving mother is distraught beyond words. She was in no way prepared for this loss. Those who know Ellen Meehan know that she loves and gives without restraint. She is a nurse and spends her life caring for others; it's just her nature. She doesn't receive or ask for help well. But please help her to memorialize him how he would want to be. She can’t handle a big funeral and wake. Michael and the family have had to many. The family will have a small private service with just family. Being part of the family was very important to Michael. He would never have wanted to be the center of attention like that or had a big fuss. Ellen would like to honor Michael and this great loss to her please help.
