Elizabeth is a woman of faith, a talented artist, writer, former band singer, and animal lover who has fallen on hard times and is currently homeless. When I met her, she was sitting quietly with her two sibling cats, Moonlight and Mojo, not asking for anything, just trying to get by. Something about her presence compelled me to reach out, and we ended up talking for over an hour, discovering we had many interests in common. She shared with me that she had just lost her best friend of 25 years, who was also a former boyfriend, and that the grief was overwhelming. Despite her struggles, Elizabeth’s spirit, positivity, and determination inspire me deeply. She is on disability, but it isn’t enough to keep a roof over her head in Miami, where the cost of living has become impossible. She tries to sell her art on the street to pay for a motel and food, but it’s a daily struggle. Her only family now are her two beloved cats, who bring her comfort and companionship. Elizabeth dreams of moving to Puerto Rico, a place she and her late friend had planned to go together. There, she hopes to become a registered vendor and sell her art, using her talents to build a new life. The funds raised will help Elizabeth cover her basic needs, secure a plane ticket, and give her a small cushion to start over. She is so close to finishing a book about her incredible life, and with a little help, she can turn this difficult chapter into a hopeful new beginning. If you can, please consider donating or sharing Elizabeth’s story. Your support will help her and her cats find safety, stability, and a chance to thrive. Every bit of kindness makes a difference.
