Help Eliza Fight for Her Right to Be a Mother

Imagine being told that you can no longer be part of your child’s life, not because you don’t love them, not because you didn’t care, but because you’re ill and you simply cannot afford to fight. This is the reality Eliza is facing today. Bedridden by illness, she is now at risk of losing the only thing she has left, her daughter.

We are raising funds to support Eliza in her fight for something most of us take for granted, the right to be present in her daughter’s life.

Eliza’s Story

Eliza is 46 years old. Twelve years ago, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Despite her illness, she built a life with her partner and raised their daughter together in London. Her daughter lived with her until the age of 8.

At one point, her partner asked if he could take their daughter abroad for a short time to complete his studies. Trusting him, Eliza agreed.

That decision changed everything.

After a few months, he informed her that he had no intention of returning to the UK.

Two years ago, he went even further and applied to the court to strip Eliza of her parental rights.

Eliza fought back. She managed to convince the court not to remove her rights entirely. However, they were severely restricted. Today, her role as a mother has been reduced to little more than the right to ask questions about her child. Any contact depends on the goodwill of her ex-partner, with whom communication is extremely difficult.

Despite everything, Eliza has not given up. She wants to appeal and continue fighting.

But her financial situation is very difficult , every pound matters. Her illness has left her bedridden, yet it has not taken away what matters most: her love for her daughter and the bond they still share. They remain in regular contact, and the thought of losing that connection is devastating.

Multiple sclerosis has taken almost everything from her.

Her daughter is all she has left.
