Hi, my name is Jade, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my papaw, Elisha. He’s 71 years old and truly the most hardworking, selfless, and dedicated man I know. My papaw raised my brother and me while working sunup to sundown to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. He’s spent his life farming — growing and cutting tobacco, raising cattle, and putting up fences all across Kentucky. He’s the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone else, even when he had little to give. But after a lifetime of hard labor, it’s getting harder for him to keep up. His body has taken the toll, and now his home is falling apart around him. The ceilings throughout his house are covered in black mold and some are starting to cave in. It’s not just a comfort issue anymore — it’s a health risk. To make things worse, back in 2022, his home of nearly 30 years caught fire and burned completely down. We lost everything that day. Since then, he’s been living in an old storage trailer that he’s done his best to turn into a home. Our church helped him put on a roof and fix what they could, but it’s still not safe or healthy for him to live in. I’m trying to raise enough funds to repair his ceilings and make his home a place where he can be comfortable, safe, and proud to live in again. He would never ask for help himself — that’s just the kind of man he is — so I’m doing it for him. Because I truly believe he deserves better after everything he’s given to others. If I could, I’d do it all myself. But I know that together, with your help, we can give him the peace and comfort he’s earned after a lifetime of hard work.
