Help Elijah & Bella Recover After a Devastating Accident

Donation protected
On Tuesday, March 31, around 11 PM, 21-year-olds Elijah and Bella were involved in a serious car accident while driving home in Egg Harbor Township after Bella picked Elijah up from his shift at Wawa on English Creek and Ocean Heights Avenue. And got into a Horrific car Accident. While they are incredibly grateful to be alive, both sustained significant injuries and were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. Bella suffered a broken arm, severe abdominal bruising, and multiple cuts and bruises. Elijah’s injuries were far more extensive, including a head injury, broken nose and orbital bone, broken left leg, a deep laceration to the bone near his right knee, and several wounds requiring stitches. Elijah spent two days in the ICU and remains hospitalized as he continues his recovery.

Elijah and Bella are young parents to their son, Milo, who will be turning three years old on April 11. Their lives have been turned upside down overnight. Both are now experiencing emotional trauma, including flashbacks, panic attacks, and symptoms of PTSD. Due to their injuries, neither Elijah nor Bella is currently able to hold their son, which has been one of the most heartbreaking parts of this experience. Bella was discharged Thursday evening but has spent as much time as possible by Elijah’s side so he is not alone during this difficult time. Sadly, due to the accident and ongoing recovery, they have also had to cancel Milo’s upcoming birthday party that was planned at the Cape May County Zoo. Elijah’s family, along with Bella and Milo, also plan to spend Easter in the hospital with Elijah as he continues his recovery.

Both Elijah and Bella will be out of work for the foreseeable future, creating an immediate financial strain for their young family. Funds raised will help cover medical-related expenses, transportation to and from the hospital, groceries, necessities for Milo, and basic living expenses while they focus on healing. Elijah lives at home with his mother and four siblings, placing additional strain on his family as they balance his care with their everyday responsibilities. Bella lives with her mother and grandparents, who have been helping transport and support her as she copes with her injuries and emotional trauma.

We are asking our community to come together to support Elijah, Bella, and little Milo during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter how small, will help ease the financial burden and allow them to focus on recovery. For those who may not be able to donate financially, other forms of support are also deeply appreciated. Milo currently wears size 8 diapers, and donations of diapers, wipes, or gift cards for groceries, gas, or everyday essentials would be incredibly helpful during this time. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping them in your thoughts and prayers would also mean so much.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support as this young family begins their long journey toward healing. ❤️
