Help Elias Build a Home for His Family

Hello everyone!!! Before we leave the island, we would really love to help out our dear friend Elias and his family. They are Maasai tribe (Lake Manyara region) but live here in Zanzibar due to his daughter Lilian having a sponsor for the private international school. Life on Zanzibar is very expensive, and being Maasai, they are used to living in the bush… There are no Maasai villages here in Zanzibar, so currently the 3 of them are renting a room from a local. This can be challenging in itself, due to conflicting beliefs. But Elias and his wife want the very best for their daughter and have made multiple sacrifices.

They return to their village on the mainland about 1-2 times a year, so they nearly live in two entirely different worlds. While here on the island, Lilian is in one of the best schools in Zanzibar (thanks to a sponsor) and is in school with many different children from all over the world. She often asks Elias why they do not have a house like her friends do.

Elias and his wife both work very, very hard here to afford living and have bought a small plot of land to build a home. The foundation is down, but he needs help to raise funds for the block work. At the rate they are going, it would be many, many years until completion.

Elias has been a dear friend to us since the beginning of moving here and we would love nothing more than to help with the blocks he is needing to build his home for his family. The blocks are about 75 cents a block.
