Donation protected
Important laws around political donations:
- I can only accept donations from Irish residents or Irish citizens living abroad.
- I cannot accept more than €1,000 from the same person in a calendar year
- I cannot accept an anonymous donation of more than €100. GoFundMe donations aren't anonymous, I can see all the names but I will be in touch for your address for donations over €100.
By donating, you confirm that you are an Irish resident or an Irish citizen living abroad and that you have not exceeded the maximum permissible donation of €2,500 to the Green Party this year. If I'm unsure, I will have to get in touch with you or return the donation.

Hi there!
My name is Rob O'Donnell and I'm putting myself forward to be a Councillor in the Cappamore-Kilmallock Local Electoral Area in County Limerick.
I want to represent the people of East Limerick and be a fresh, young, progressive voice in our Council Chamber, bringing new energy and ideas to the role and a commitment to serve the people of County Limerick with a real vision of what our county can be.
Our country faces enormous challenges in the years ahead as we need to address the social issues of housing, the cost of living, road safety and climate change - to name just a few. I believe though that with the right people with a long-term vision for how our county can be, we can both meet these challenges and make our county a better place to live.
Running for office is a huge financial burden however, with the larger parties (my competitors) spending thousands on election literature and advertising. As a people-powered campaign, small donations will help me to effectively campaign and get my name out there, and any contribution you can make to me is most appreciated. The money will mostly be spent on:
- Leaflets, letters and online ads to reach out to people to introduce myself and increase voter registration
- Postage costs for apartments that can't be canvassed in-person
- Posters during election time
All residents can vote in Limerick City & County Council elections but voter participation tends to be low. With your support, I can get the resources I need to get elected to the Council and ensure that voters are engaged and elect a strong, progressive voice for rural County Limerick.
About Me
I live in my native Pallasgreen, son of Nora and the late Tom, and have returned home after spending time living and studying in Dublin, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain over the past few years. These experiences have given me perspective and vision of how we could do things in Limerick - and I want to bring this to the Council.
I studied Engineering with Management in Trinity College Dublin after attending the Abbey School, Tipperary and Tineteriffe NS, Cappamore. I have an interest in the entire region, with my family roots in Pallasgreen, Lattin, Galbally and Doon.
I currently work as part of MEP Grace O’Sullivan’s constituency staff, based in her Cork office.
