Hi everyone,

My name is Jamie and I am a parent in the El Puente community. I’m reaching out because so many of our families are struggling right now. With the upcoming concerns about SNAP and WIC benefits being paused, several households in our school community are suddenly facing gaps in grocery support and the cost of food continues to rise.

Our school serves about 400 students, and roughly 70 are part of the weekend backpack food program, but we know that number doesn’t capture everyone who’s feeling the strain. Some families are quietly doing without, skipping meals, or stretching every dollar just to make it through the week.

We want to make sure no family is going without food and no children are worried about what’s in their fridge. This fund will go directly toward groceries, food boxes, and grocery store gift cards for El Puente families who need extra support over the coming weeks and months. Every dollar will help get food into homes, hopefully as soon as next week.

We am also looking for anyone who could help support putting food boxes together, picking up grocery cards, etc. please reach out with any ideas or ways that you can support.
