26.2 Miles for the Next Generation: Edos’s London Marathon Challenge
I’ve officially signed up for the 2026 London Marathon! ♂️
On April 26th, I’ll be taking on 26.2 miles of "fun and pain" to raise vital funds for Rise:61—a charity that acts as a lifeline for children and families in Bemerton Heath. From 1-to-1 mentoring to providing safe hubs and after-school clubs, they are transforming lives on our doorstep.
Why I’m Running
As a father of three, my heart is for the next generation. I want every young person in our community to have access to the same opportunities, safety, and support that I strive to give my own daughters.
My faith is at the very centre of this challenge. I believe we are called to love our neighbours and look out for one another. For me, running this marathon is more than a physical goal; it is a way of putting that faith into tangible action.
Strength Through Perseverance
Training for a marathon is a lesson in resilience. It’s a constant reminder that "we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." I am running to give back because I believe no child should have to find their way alone. Every young person is a precious gift, and they deserve the chance to thrive, not just survive.
How You Can Help
Every mile of training and every step of the race brings us closer to helping a child reach their full potential.
Rise:61 receives no statutory government funding. They rely entirely on the generosity of people like you to keep their doors open and their mentors on the ground.
-£10 could help fund resources for an after-school club.
-£25 could provide a 1-to-1 mentoring session for a vulnerable young person.
-£50 helps keep our community hubs safe and welcoming.
Please donate what you can and help me champion the youth of Bemerton Heath!
Thank you for your prayers, your cheers, and your generosity. Every pound makes a difference!
