I’m Edna, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself and my spouse after we were both severely injured in a motor vehicle accident. In an instant, our lives changed, and we are now unable to work while we recover. We have always been self-sufficient and hardworking, and asking for help is not easy for us. This accident was no fault of our own, and it came at the absolute worst possible time. We were also in the middle of a move when this happened, and all of our possessions are currently in storage units. Our injuries have collectively impacted our ability to drive and extensively impacted our mobility, which has made even basic daily tasks much harder. We are the kind of people who are usually eager to show up for others, so being in a position where we truly need support has been incredibly difficult and humbling.

Right now, the funds from this fundraiser will help us keep up with the ongoing basics of daily life while we are unable to earn income. That includes helping us secure shelter expenses, pay our bills, cover transportation costs, and keep up with our storage unit fees. Those costs do not stop while we recover, and if we are unable to pay the storage fees, we could lose everything we own. Because our mobility is so limited and driving has been affected, predictable support would make a real difference by helping us manage continuing needs as they come due and navigate day-to-day life while we heal.
