Help Ecomunidad Nativa Kambo Family's Amazon Center Rebuild

Hi, my name is Johnnie aka Cloudsong, and I’m the founder of Earth Medicine Apparel Co. — a queer-owned apparel brand rooted in honoring traditional Earth medicines, community healing, and real impact.

In 2022, I journeyed to the Peruvian Amazon and met the late Maestro Jhonny Javá — a renowned Kambo wisdom keeper, teacher, and healer who changed the course of my life. Through his profound wisdom, humor, and generosity, I experienced a deep healing and reconnection that helped (in part) give birth to the greater vision for my company. After his sudden passing in 2024, I remained in close contact with his wife, Uli, and their children, who continue to hold and care for his legacy at Ecomunidad Nativa Kambo Family, a nature reserve and healing center in the Napo River Valley of the Loreto region, Peru.

Today, I’m asking for your support in helping this incredible family rebuild the core infrastructure of their healing center, which has suffered from neglect and grief following Jhonny’s passing. The maloca (traditional ceremonial space) and living areas are in urgent need of repair so that the family can reopen their space, continue serving their community, and welcome future guests and students.

The goal is to raise 15,000 Peruvian Sols (around $4,200 USD) for materials and labor. I am personally pledging $1,000 to kickstart this campaign — a gesture of reciprocity for what I received from this family, and from the Amazon. This money is used directly to get the supplies and labor needed to rebuild their maloca (community medicine space), living quarters for staff and for guests.

It's my mission to share their story far and wide for two reasons: (1) While many do not know Jhonny Javá, his imprint is felt globally on the neo-shamanic ceremonial style many non-indigenous Kambo practitioners utilize, (2) I've found the best way to protect the Amazon is to support its people directly.

Why This Matters

Ecomunidad Nativa Kambo Family is not only a family home — it’s a living legacy, an anchor point for healing traditions rooted in the rainforest and shared with deep integrity. Supporting their ability to rebuild means:

  • Preserving the legacy of Maestro Jhonny Javá
  • Ensuring the family can continue offering their traditional medicines in a safe, grounded space
  • Maintaining their land as a community-led nature reserve
  • Uplifting Indigenous stewardship and cultural continuity in the Amazon

Earth Medicine Apparel Co. is committed to long-term collaboration with this family through product sales and education. Uli and her family's need for support is now, and sales alone haven’t yet met the immediate fundraising goal. With our online store launching August 1st, this GoFundMe allows us to act sooner while staying true to our values.

How You Can Help

  • Donate any amount you can — every dollar goes directly to the family’s rebuilding efforts.
  • Share this campaign with friends, healers, and Earth lovers who care about protecting traditions and supporting grassroots Indigenous families.
Follow our journey on Instagram or join our newsletter to watch how this campaign unfolds.

This is reciprocity in action. This is community care.

**Our campaign partner is located in a country that GoFundMe does not support. So all funds will be withdrawn by us and sent via Western Union directly to Uli.**

From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of Uli, her family, and the sacred land they tend, thank you.

With gratitude,
Cloudsong
