Help Eagleville Preserve Its Fire Department

My name is Sarah, and I am proud to call Eagleville, CA, my home. Nestled in Northern California's Modoc County, our tiny town holds a special place in the hearts of its residents. With a rich history, not much has changed here in the last 150 years, though we have sadly seen our population decline. Despite this, the people of Eagleville cherish our sleepy town and the traditions that connect us.

Our community relies on a volunteer fire department, two fire stations, a community hall, and a church—all vital resources managed by a nonprofit organization. Unfortunately, even with our yearly BBQ benefit, we struggle to raise enough funds to cover the essential costs of insurance, utilities, and repairs. The most significant expense is State Compensation for our dedicated volunteer firefighters. Each year, we find ourselves facing a shortfall of about $10,000.

It’s heartbreaking to think that without the necessary support, our beloved town might lose its fire department, making it difficult for residents to obtain homeowners' insurance. We deeply care about our community and want to ensure that Eagleville continues to thrive for generations to come.
