She is a lesbian woman of colour and activist living with her partner and who has been involved with our community for several years - those who know her well will know how kind and supportive she is to our community and how E has been a fierce ally to our trans global majority community, supporting some of us to access gender affirming care.

During E’s time here, she has supported people facing homelessness, people living with dementia, and children with SEND needs. Her partner is also an involved member in local trans communities, and supports harm reduction groups for trans+ people. Initially, she felt nervous about asking for support but did not have another option and it’s time our community showed up for E!!! ❤️

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a lot of humility to ask for your support.

I’m E, a lesbian neurodivergent immigrant fighting to live safely with my partner in the UK.

I come from a country where it is not safe to be a lesbian, it is not safe to be me. If I was deported, not only would I be forced apart from my partner, who is a trans woman, but she would also not be able to safely visit me — politically, logistically, and emotionally, it’s a mess.

Additionally, I am on life-saving medication for my ADHD here in the U.K. It would be extremely traumatic and debilitating for me to try to access this medication in my home country; I would be forced to go through withdrawal whilst attempting re-diagnosis, translation of medical records, and starting medical titrations again. On top of this, I would have to pay medication fees that I would not be able to afford.

Why I need your help:

In 2024, I went through an intense period of racial abuse in my local area. This left me with extreme health, emotional, and financial consequences. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD. To recover, I lent money from a kind friend, and sought essential therapy from a therapist specialised in racial abuse and racial trauma, which has put me in over £5k worth of debt. I had an agreement with my friend to repay my debt after finishing university and starting employment.

During this period of my life, my family had gracefully agreed to aid me with my visa fees. I have since began employment earlier this year, but my family are no longer able to support me with visa fees, leaving me to face a huge amount of financial stress on my own.

The costs are staggering — I love my job (I work with LGBTQ+ asylum seekers) and it is meaningful work but the income I make will not meet the visa/debt costs. Even with my partner’s support, between visa fees, legal help, and repaying debt accumulated due to racial abuse, it’s more than we can manage alone.

We’re doing everything we can — but we can’t do it without help.

I love my community, my partner, the beautiful cat we have adopted, and where we live.

The U.K. is my home and I don’t want to be forced to leave.

I’m facing enormous visa costs and debt just to stay in my home and to live freely with my partner. Every donation, share, and kind word helps more than I can say. Thank you for helping me through this. ❤️
