My name is Dyke Simpson, and I am facing one of the most difficult seasons of my life. After undergoing the traumatic loss of both legs due to medical complications, I am now working to rebuild my life from the ground up. What makes this situation even more urgent is that I am currently homeless in Indianapolis, Indiana, and urgently need stable, accessible housing. No one should have to recover from life-altering surgery without a safe place to call home.
I recently had both legs amputated. The physical and emotional toll has been overwhelming. In addition to adjusting to mobility changes, medical appointments, and rehabilitation, I am now facing homelessness. Without stable housing, recovery becomes nearly impossible. Access to basic necessities like hygiene facilities, safe sleeping arrangements, and consistent medical care is critical right now.
Funds raised will go directly toward my first month’s rent and security deposit for accessible housing, temporary hotel or emergency housing while permanent housing is secured, medical equipment and mobility support, basic living necessities (food, hygiene supplies, clothing), and transportation to medical and rehabilitation appointments. My immediate goal is to secure safe, ADA-accessible housing in Indianapolis so I can focus on healing and rebuilding my independence.
Housing is the foundation for recovery. With stability, I can focus on physical therapy, prosthetic evaluation, and rebuilding my life with dignity. Any donation—big or small—will make a real difference. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing my fundraiser with your network. Together, we can help me move from homelessness to hope. Thank you for your compassion and support.
