Vision Statement, July 2025
Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my page! My name is Dustin Stevenson, founder of the new Podcast and YouTube Channel: Coffee With A Coastie. As a veteran who dedicated over 15 years of my adult life to the United States Coast Guard, I put the “Coastie” in the title :)
The Calling:
After years of searching for a craft that resonates with me, it finally came to me as a culmination of my passions: patriotism, gratitude, and conversing with people who have stories to tell but a small audience to converse with.
Show Format:
The show will be traveling through Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont (at the beginning, but eventually the entire U.S.). I will be interviewing veterans at veteran’s nursing homes and also organically in public. I want to interview these veterans and share their stories with the global audience to keep their living history alive, and express gratitude for their sacrifice and dedication! For far too many of these veterans, they sit secluded and removed from society, often with minimal visitation from even their own flesh and blood. As Americans, I feel we owe them a proper thank you and recognition while they can still receive it! I will also be presenting them with a personalized gift during their interview. It may be a small token of recognition, but as a veteran myself, I know for a fact this particular gift will put a smile on their face and remind them of how important they are to us all! The gift is a personalized challenge coin. If you do not know what these are, I beg you to research them for yourself. If you are a veteran, you know how we all appreciate the stories and memories behind our own. The potential for this channel is huge; mainly, I hope to inspire others to create their own channels and assist in interviewing even more veterans. It is a personal belief that not sharing their stories is a contributing factor to these citizens "losing their data" and developing symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer's. If this saves a memory for even one soul, I know it will make a difference in more lives than just their own :)
Your contribution:
No matter how little or how much you donate, all proceeds will be used to purchase the necessary equipment, materials, and personalized gifts in order to make this vision a reality.
As of this year, we have 11,385,878 aged 55 or over. PLEASE JOIN ME IN THANKING A VETERAN, and thank you all for your support :)
