Help Duke's Journey to Health and Happiness

Allow me to introduce you to Duke; our current TLC foster, and the most perfectest boy to walk the face of this earth.

Sadly, this dear, sweet, gentle boy had taken a few rides on the Hot-Mess-Express, prior to finding The Labrador Connection; and hitching that, long-overdue, Freedom Ride headed North. After - according to the owner - being shot in the leg years ago, and somehow finding himself relinquished to an overcrowded shelter and in need of rescue... a confused and exhausted, 3-legged Duke stumbled out of his transport kennel and into my arms; Heartworm and Ehrlicia positive, skin and bones, and in desperate need of TLC and a soft, quiet place to rest and recuperate. Duke's got a long, expensive road-to-recovery ahead of him, but is oh-so deserving of this opportunity to thrive and live his very best life, as his very best self; healthy, feelin' good and carefree, in his forever home, with the perfect family.

Unfortunately, Heartworm Disease is a bitch, and even more of a bitch to treat; and it's all too prevalent in the communities notoriously known...if only in the rescue world...to be relentlessly overpopulated with neglected and abandoned animals - many deemed 'disposable property' and discarded like trash by heartless humans - in desperate need of help.

The Labrador Connection currently has 10+ dogs undergoing heartworm treatment - a strict, extensive, months-long, all-around-draining protocol; I've created this GoFundMe...to cover the guesstimated cost of Duke's treatment and recovery, and then some...with the hope we can alleviate even just a bit of the relentless financial burden they endure, and offer some peace of mind.
