Hi, my name is Adrianne, but you probably know me as Bird Lady Drin.
Real talk.
In July, Drin and her family were days from moving home to Michigan from New York due to lack of work. Two days before moving day, Drin's husband was offered a job at a start-up in the field he went to graduate school for, so we took the biggest risk we've ever taken in our adult lives and stayed. We had faith, trust, and hope that this career would change our lives, but unfortunately, one month later and with no notice, we were informed the start-up had run out of money; and just like that we were without income or support. For the past few weeks, we have been trying literally everything to gain income quickly, but it's not fast enough and we are now seriously facing eviction and homelessness. Our worst nightmare.
Our situation has become truly dire, which is why I am asking for your help. We have had numerous interviews with great prospects, but we're out of time. We are already one month behind in rent, our account is red, and this is the emergency of all emergencies for us; never in our collective 75 years of life have we ever faced this, but here we are and it's very real. If you have the means to help, anything helps. I'm terrified we will be evicted, with no friends or family to help us, we will be homeless with a baby. This is my nightmare. I can't believe I'm even typing this, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and thank you for your time, compassion, and help. I'm sorry for even asking for help like this, as it is very out of character for me to ask for help with something like this, but life takes us on some interesting side-quests. So thank you for being here with me so I'm not so alone.
These funds will help pay for 2 months rent, including one month of past-due rent ($2,580), 2 months phone ($290), and gas until we are working ($130) = $3,000 minimum.
Thank you, friends.
