The Morrison family - Doug, Ansley, and their son Jack, who turned four years old just two days before Thanksgiving - suffered a tragic loss two days after Thanksgiving when Ansley, who had just realized she was expecting a much-wanted second child, suffered a massive and fatal hemorrhage resulting from an ectopic pregnancy.
Ansley was a gifted artist who had exhibited her work for years, but when she and Doug became a couple, they became business partners, and together, they had built a small business. Forward Motion BMX features a BMX performance team that travels coast to coast performing for schools, businesses, and community organizations. After the birth of their son, Ansley worked from home acting as office manager for the business.
After the first initial years, during which time they dealt with covid, welcomed the birth of their son, got the business back off the ground when schools reopened, and moved to be closer to Ansley’s family, things were looking up when the unthinkable happened.
Ansley was an irreplaceable member of her family. She was a loving and attentive wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and devoted friend. Her contributions toward managing their home and business were invaluable.
While they were shopping for life insurance, they had not yet purchased it, and Doug faces the massive challenge of reorganizing their home life and business while grieving the loss of his wife, helping Jack deal with the loss of his mother, and figuring out how to maintain a viable business as a single parent.
He has shown remarkable strength…working so hard to maintain his son’s routines - preschool, church, playtime with friends and grandparents - while juggling the daunting amount of work that has to be done to keep the business going…
Funding can’t replace what this family has lost, but relieving some of the financial stress can’t help but free up emotional energy for all that has to be done, regardless.
With gratitude…
