Sometimes life happens, and often people are afraid to ask for help. Anyone who knows my parents, Donald and Ronda Phillips, knows they are some of the most welcoming people in the world. They have always opened their doors to your kids, grandkids, friends in need, and anyone who just needed a hug. That’s simply who they are. My parents have been through so much over the years, including my mom’s cancer diagnosis back in 2007. She was forced out of work for nearly a year, but together they made it through. They have been part of this community for 25 years, and I’m so thankful that I now get to raise my own children and family in the same community they helped build through love and kindness.

Unfortunately, my parents are now in a situation where they need to find a house to rent or down deposit for house, but they desperately want to remain part of this community they love so much. Without going into details, because it is not my place to point fingers, my family is hurting right now — and when one family hurts, the community hurts. My parents would never ask for help themselves, but I am asking for them. They have been given very little time to leave the home they are currently staying in, and they have not had enough time to begin the process of finding another place. They do not need anything fancy — they simply need a HOME.

The funds raised will help cover costs for renting for first couple of months or down payment on a home, so they can stay in their community and continue to be surrounded by the people who mean so much to them. I’m asking our community to come together and help my parents find a place where they can continue to live, love, and be surrounded by the people who mean so much to them.
