My name is Anthony Sankoh, Co-Founder of Dorwontony Organisation for the Aged (DOFA).
For many elderly people in Sierra Leone, growing old can be a lonely and difficult journey.
Without steady income, access to healthcare, or family support, many of our elders, the very people who once built our families and communities, now face their later years in silence and struggle.
That’s why the Dorwontony Organisation for the Aged (DOFA) was founded to restore hope, dignity, and care to Sierra Leone’s elderly through free medical check-ups, legal aid, monthly breakfast programs, and advocacy.
Every first Wednesday of the month, DOFA serves free breakfast and medical care to dozens of elderly men and women across Freetown. These gatherings bring smiles, warmth, and a sense of belonging, reminding them that they are not forgotten.
But DOFA’s dream goes further.
We want to build a permanent home and care centre for the elderly, a peaceful place where they can receive regular meals, healthcare, emotional support, and love every day, not just once a month.
To make this dream possible, we are now raising funds to acquire a piece of land — the first and most important step toward building Sierra Leone’s first Elderly Care and Empowerment Center.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Your donations will go directly toward:
• Purchasing land for the Elderly Care and Empowerment Centre
• Preparing the site (surveying, fencing, and basic infrastructure)

This fundraiser is being organized by Anthony Sankoh, one of DOFA’s founders, based in the United States, on behalf of DOFA’s operations team in Sierra Leone.
Because GoFundMe is not yet available in Sierra Leone, all funds will be received through Anthony Sankoh’s verified U.S. account, and 100% of the donations will be transferred directly to DOFA’s official PayPal account in Sierra Leone to support this campaign.
We will post updates, photos, and receipts along the way so every donor can see the real impact of their contribution.
