Help Djamilla Keep Archer Safe and Secure
Donation protected
Greetings Everyone,
My name is Djamilla and I'm a single mother of two children. Unfortunately, my husband has filed for divorce and is aggressively demanding 50/50 custody of our 1-year-old son immediately. Even though our son, Archer, is still nursing through the night and throughout the day, my husband is also demanding that Archer stays with him overnight. I know that it would be traumatizing for him to be without me for that long, especially during the night. Since I'm his primary caregiver and have spent nearly every minute together since he was born. My husband wants me to pump milk but breastfeeding is so much more than just milk. It's a profound bonding experience helping Archer to co-regulate his feelings; it gives oxytocin to both mother and child, boosting Archer's immune system with stem cells. We are co-sleeping so he can nurse on demand, which helps his neurological development as well as his overall well-being and secure attachment within himself. To break this bond would only cause harm to Archer; he's not ready to be separated from me, his mother, at this early age. I want his father, my husband, to have plenty of quality time together with Archer, but it needs to happen gradually and not immediately with 50/50 custody. Especially since they haven't spent that much time together. During our marriage and the 1 year of Archer's life, my husband only spent about an hour per day with him. My husband also has very little experience with babies, toddlers, and children. He also neglected Archer's needs on several occasions.
I'm creating this GoFundMe since my husband already has a legal team he's been working with without my knowledge. I felt coerced and ambushed into the legal aspects of this divorce.
And I'm completely alone. My family lives in Sweden and the majority of my closest friends live very far away.
These funds will be used to cover legal fees.
So from my heart to yours, and the truth of my soul, please consider helping me advocate for my son's primordial need to be with his mother as long as he's nursing. Thank you!
