It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved Brother Djamal passed away tonight at 10:45 p.m. at Barnes Jewish Hospital. May Allah (SWT) grant him mercy, forgive his sins, and grant him the highest ranks in Jannah.

In light of this tragic loss, we have updated the fundraising goal to support Djamal’s family during this difficult time and to help cover his burial expenses. Your kindness and generosity mean so much, and we truly appreciate every prayer, donation, and message of support.

Help Djamal Fight for His Life: A Heart Transplant Is His Only Hope

Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

Today, we come to you with heavy hearts, seeking help for a beloved member of our community, Djamal, a devoted father of four children aged 5 to 12, originally from Algeria has spent years building a life for his family here, Belleville, IL, while battling serious health challenges.

Djamal’s journey has been marked by resilience, but also unimaginable challenges. His battle began in 1995 when he underwent open-heart surgery at a young age. Since then, his health has been a constant uphill struggle, preventing him from maintaining a full-time job and repeatedly landing him in the hospital.

In 2022, Djamal’s heart condition took a critical turn. His heart began to beat dangerously low, and he underwent a procedure to place a pacemaker in his chest to regulate his heartbeat. Sadly, this was only a temporary solution. Over the past year, Djamal has been admitted to the hospital numerous times, each visit more serious than the last.

Just last month, Djamal was rushed to Memorial Hospital, where his condition worsened to the point that he had to be transferred to Barnes Jewish Hospital. His doctors have delivered heartbreaking news: Djamal’s heart has reached its limit. His only chance for survival is a heart transplant, and he will not be able to leave the hospital until this life-saving procedure is done.

As we rally around Djamal, we are reminded of the four little hearts that depend on him: his children, who desperately need their father. Along with your prayers and positive thoughts, Djamal and his family need financial support to navigate this critical period.
