Divas and Drummers of Compton is a nonprofit youth dance and drum program that has grown into a true safe haven for children in Compton. Inside a small warehouse that is now bursting at the seams with students, hundreds of kids find safety, structure, and community through dance, cheer, music, and drums. Many youth groups across the area no longer feel safe practicing at local parks, so they now share this limited space, making it harder each day to accommodate the number of kids who need us.

We have officially run out of room. And without a larger facility, we will soon be forced to turn away children who rely on this program to stay off the streets and out of harm’s way.

A vacant school building in Compton has been identified as the perfect new home for Divas of Compton. With your help, we can purchase this abandoned school and create a safe, fully equipped performing arts campus for our kids.

Why We Need Your Help

Our current warehouse is too small for the number of kids seeking a safe space. Youth cheer, band, and dance groups now crowd into the studio because they do not feel safe practicing elsewhere. With limited room, children lose rehearsal time, practice in cramped conditions, and wait outside until space opens up.

Purchasing the abandoned school would allow us to:

Provide supervised after-school space

Add rooms for tutoring, mentorship, and music therapy

Build proper dance studios, drum rooms, and performance space

Expand mental health and wellness programs
