Help Disabled People Explore Nature

Dear Friends,
I would like to purchase an AdvenChair for disabled people. My name is Mark LaMont and I have been a teacher in Sisters, Oregon for 32 years. Sisters is surrounded by gorgeous mountains, rivers and lakes. It's an active community and most local people, and visitors, can access amazing places using an extensive trail system. But, not everyone can get there. An AdvenChair would make these special places accessible to many more people!
An Advenchair is an all-terrain wheelchair capable of taking disabled people to destinations that are not possible in a regular wheelchair. It requires one or more people to navigate (steer, push or pull), depending on the destination. Navigating the chair is generally a team activity. I’ve seen the AdvenChair in action when my friend Amber test rode the chair with its inventor, Geoff Babb. More about Amber below, and more info about the AdvenChair at advenchair.com, or check the link at the top of this story.
I work with life skills/disabled students at Sisters high school. This is ideal because I will include high school students on AdvenChair outings. I will coordinate AdvenChair teams to navigate it on various hikes with disabled users. Many students want to give back, and they would enjoy the teamwork navigating the chair. This means that disabled people, and the teams that navigate the chair, will benefit. Any disabled person, young or old, could use the AdvenChair to access beautiful places that are otherwise out of reach. And, anyone could be part of the team that navigates users to their destinations.
An AdvenChair costs $12,000. AdvenChairs are extremely durable, with high-quality components, and will last for years or decades. With my position at the school, and network of friends, I am confident that I can promote, coordinate, and involve a variety of users and navigating teams effectively. All of the future users will own it, and have access to it, free of charge.
Amber Alvarez Lara would be one of many users of the AdvenChair. I've know Amber since she was in Kindergarten. Amber will be a freshman at Sisters High School in the fall. Amber would prefer that the chair be available to many others, not just her. That’s a great idea! I hope you can help make it happen.
