Help Dirtwitch Keep her Home and Business!

UPDATE as of 12/4: Thank you to so many generous members of Dirtwitch's community! She has just made a payment for those three months of overdue mortgage. She has also paid several hundred$ in bills. This comes "just in the nick of time" and is "so amazing" per a recent text message from DW. As we inch towards meeting the original goal, any funds raised in excess of $8000 will be put towards much needed roof repairs.

Friends, Dirtwitch is running out of options. She needs our help to avoid a January 1st foreclosure notice.
When we spoke recently she expressed deep worries about losing the home that not only represents all of her savings, but also provides the unique workspace required to pursue her livelihood. When she looks out across the pastures she thinks that what she sees is all she’s ever wanted. She “desperately wants to stay more than anything” Let’s help her catch up, get back into the shop, and work for the next month without distractions. Please join me in helping her stay in the home she loves and keep the shop that houses SwiftHound Bows .
Through whatever community you met DW, you're aware of her significant contributions. I met her when I was just becoming a Black Rock Ranger in 2003, and remember her as one of the veteran role models that I aspired to learn from. As one of the first female BRR shift leads at Burning Man, DW made it safe for so many first time female rangers, and took heat for it. She led the Flipside Ranger organization for many years, developing the Steward system that carries on today. These days she's known to many for producing authentic medieval bows for re-enacters, the SCA, hunters, target competitors, collectors, and movie/tv shows.
It’s our turn now to give back to one of our own--a leader, and a generous soul who deserves to be lifted up. Please help us raise at least $8000 to buy her some time to find renters, realize the full potential of her business, and develop a long term solution to moving forward with life after her marriage and keeping the house she LOVES. I can’t stress enough how much this support will mean to our beloved DW.
Your gifts to this campaign will be used to pay for:
· 3 months back mortgage to avoid foreclosure January 1st
· Next months' utilities and insurance (bows currently in progress won’t be finished in time to yield payments by those due dates)
· Plumbing to install the unique gas range in the kitchen—she’s been cooking indoors on a series of camping stoves for YEARS
· Labor and materials to shore up the internet antenna tower
· Other minor improvements required to make the house renter/roommate friendly so she can find the roommates who will help her keep from falling behind again.
· Help with deep cleaning of rooms to be rented—time DW spends on this is time she can’t work on cash-producing bows.
· Legal costs related to her divorce

If you’re unable to give money, or want to donate AND do more, here’s a list of additional ways you can help:
· Share this GFM campaign with other friends in your network
· Comment on this GFM campaign where it appears in your social media feeds--maybe share a favorite memory with DW
· If you’re local to Austin/Elgin, and able to help with projects listed above, please give her a shout and set up a time
· Check her Amazon wishlist to see if there are items she currently needs (I've encouraged her to keep adding supplies needed to finish current orders)
· Tell your re-enacter friends about her beautiful SwiftHound Bows (http://swifthoundbows.com/about-2/ )
