Help Dina and Her Family Evacuate to Safety

I want to share my story with you. My name is Dina, I am 23 years old, and I live in Khan Yunis, which the Israeli occupation claimed to be safe at the beginning of the war.

My family is small, just my parents and me. We lived a life filled with peace and tranquility. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I described it as ideal.

I graduated on September 1, a month before October 7, as a biomedical equipment engineer from Al-Azhar University. I am an ambitious and diligent girl, always striving to make my parents proud. After my graduation, I constantly worked towards self-fulfillment, volunteering and taking training courses to be qualified for a job.

However, this war turned that dream into a nightmare. From the very first day of the war, my cousin was martyred. Our life, once full of tranquility, became filled with suffering. My father, who is 58 years old, took on the burden of getting our daily sustenance, standing in line for drinking water, searching for a power source to charge phones and provide lighting, and gathering wood for fire in case fuel gas was unavailable. My mother, who is 53, and I shared the chores of preparing food, washing clothes by hand, and making bread in an old-fashioned clay oven, which harmed my mother's respiratory system due to the harmful smoke.

At the beginning of the war, we hosted many families in our home, considering Khan Yunis to be a safe area, even though the shelling never stopped for a single day. Despite this, the occupation demanded the evacuation of Khan Yunis under the pressure of bombing and shelling. We miraculously evacuated our home amidst the shelling and shellfire and headed to Rafah. We lived with four families in one small house that was insufficient for all of us, but the occupation did not stop there. They forced us to move back to Khan Yunis. But where could we go? Our house, which once welcomed everyone and served as a shelter for people at the beginning of the war, was destroyed and burned by shellfire.

We are currently living in a tent in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, suffering from a lack of water, and even when water is available, it is contaminated. Diseases are spreading due to the lack of healthy food, which is also very expensive.

I want to help my parents in any way I can, but life has become more difficult, and I am unable to do some things to assist them. Therefore, I am seeking help through you to bring them comfort. I always fear losing one of them or them getting hurt, as they are all I have in this world. Throughout the war and despite all the suffering we endured, I never asked for help from anyone. But life has become more miserable, and I hesitated a lot before asking for financial assistance, but this is all I can do. My only hope is to save them. The amount needed is $20,000 to leave Gaza and start a new life outside these borders.

Your donation, no matter how small, will help us escape fear, insecurity, and the state of constant displacement. Every contribution, regardless of its size, makes a big difference. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing our campaign with your friends, family, and social networks can also have a significant impact.

*Currently, Rafah has been invaded by ground forces, and the crossing to the Egyptian border has been seized, but I am hopeful that the crossing will open very soon.*
