If you've met my mom, you or your child have probably been helped by her before. If you truly know my mom, you also know how incredibly stubborn she is.
For the last three years, my mom has been quietly fighting an extremely difficult battle with breast cancer. What once was Stage II has, over time, advanced into Stage IV. Despite multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, she was only left with complications. These complications led to the full amputation of her left arm and ultimately a life-threatening infection that has left her hospital-bound for the last 3 months.
In the meantime, as my siblings help to provide in-home care for my disabled grandma and 3-year-old sister, I have been making decisions as my mom's Power of Attorney. Finally making it to a good place health-wise and being on track to eventually be transferred home, those hopes were quickly dashed as her level of care increased. Due to mom's worsening condition and not having access to everything a Power of Attorney would need, we are already in a financial hole. As of last week, we are being urged by doctors to make plans for anything that may arise from here on.
The funds raised will go to helping establish a financial safety net for the family but mostly 3-year-old Aubrey. I promised my mom that I would do everything in my power to make sure our family is taken care of. Please keep her and our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this difficult time.
Thank you,
-Jazmin
