Support Dhana Kumari Sunar’s Fight Against Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer
Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
My name is Ryan Lamgaday. I am helping to organize this GoFundMe for Dhana Kumari Sunar, who is battling Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. We are reaching out to you today to ask for your help and support for Dhana Kumari Sunar, a beloved family member who is courageously battling stage 3 ovarian cancer. Dhana Kumari has always been a source of love, strength, and positivity in our lives. Despite her resilience, the diagnosis has brought significant emotional and financial challenges. The cost of treatment, medications, and supportive care is overwhelming, and her current financial situation makes it difficult to access the vital treatments she needs to fight this disease. Currently, she is getting treatment at AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi, India.
How you can help:
Your donation will directly assist with:
• Medical expenses, including chemotherapy and hospital visits
• Medications and supportive care
• Transportation to treatment centers from Nepal
• Any unforeseen expenses that arise during her journey to recovery
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. Your generosity will give Dhana Kumari a fighting chance and show her she is not alone in this battle.
Please share this campaign with your friends and family. Spreading awareness is just as important as donating.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and prayers. Together, we can help Dhana Kumari overcome this difficult time and bring hope back into her life.
With gratitude,
Ryan Lamgaday

I have attached Dhana Kumari Sunar’s personal letter below:
Greetings to everyone,
I am Dhana Kumari Sunar. Born and raised in a lower-class family in Hetauda, Nepal. Since the beginning, I have continuously engaged in political and social activism to eliminate the various forms of discrimination and inequalities that exist in Nepali society. I am a writer, politician, and social activist. I participated in the 1990 People's Movement, the Dalit Movement, and the Women's Movement, and served as a member of the National Women's Commission from 2007 to 2011.
While working as a laborer in the industrial area of Hetauda, Makwanpur, I completed my school graduation (SLC) through night school. Currently, I continue my work as a civic activist and am pursuing a Ph.D. in Anthropology at Tribhuvan University.
At the beginning of January 2025, I began experiencing health problems and underwent a check-up at Patan Hospital in Lalitpur. As soon as tests indicated a high possibility of cancer, I went to the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC) in Delhi, India, for further diagnosis. There, I was diagnosed with stage-3 ovarian cancer. Lacking the financial means to bear the estimated treatment costs, I began searching for more affordable treatment options.
During that process, I received treatment for one month at an Ayurvedic hospital in Delhi, and later at AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi. Between February and July 2025, I underwent five cycles of chemotherapy. On August 5, I underwent surgery and am currently undergoing post-operative treatment.
Alongside my husband and two children, I have received immense support, kindness, and love from colleagues, well-wishers, and friends. Out of the approximately NPR 2.3 million spent so far on treatment, NPR 900,000 was raised through the generous contributions of kind-hearted friends like you. My family and I are deeply grateful for your overwhelming love and support.
Looking ahead, we estimate that an additional NPR 2 million (20 lakhs) will be needed for continued treatment. As someone from a lower-middle-class family, it is nearly impossible for me to manage such a large amount required to fight ovarian cancer. Therefore, in this sudden and urgent situation, your continued support has become the most reliable and appropriate means for me.
The support and encouragement I have received from you have greatly strengthened my inner strength. Believing that “I am not alone,” I am making a heartfelt appeal for your continued help toward my necessary treatment. With your support, care, and love, I firmly believe that I will resume my public engagement very soon. Thank you.
With gratitude,
Dhana Kumari Sunar
