Devoted Dad and Healthcare Hero fight Gullian Barre Syndrome
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Adrian, I’m 44 years old, married to my amazing wife Sarah, and a proud dad to two beautiful daughters aged 2 and 5. Life for us used to be full of adventure—my wife and I loved exploring long-distance trails together, and now our little girls have joined us on gentler walks around the lake or through the country park. Those moments mean the world to me.
By profession, I’m a healthcare assistant on a spinal ward. I’ve dedicated years of my life to helping people recover and find hope after life-changing injuries. I was also training to become a nurse—a dream I was actively pursuing—when everything changed.
Recently, I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affects the nerves and leads to muscle weakness, paralysis, and severe mobility issues. In just a short time, I’ve gone from being active and working on my feet all day, to needing help myself.
This condition has not only paused my career but affected our entire family's day-to-day life. I can no longer continue my nursing training or work the job I love, and our home and routines now need to be adapted to support my reduced mobility.
I’m asking for help to support us through this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will go towards:
Mobility aids and home adaptations
Specialist physiotherapy and rehabilitation
Support for my family as I recover and transition
Loss of income during this uncertain period
I’ve spent my career caring for others—now I need to ask for a little care in return. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. Even if you can't donate, sharing this page with others means the world.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story and supporting our family.
With gratitude,
Adrian , Sarah, and our girls.
