Hi, my name is Destiny.

I’m a hardworking single mom doing my best to raise five amazing kids—and one almost-grown teenager—through some very hard times. Life has thrown a lot at us lately, and right now, we’re facing a serious housing crisis that I can’t overcome on my own. It has been such a struggle for me to find somewhere for us to move these last two months! Either my income wasn’t enough or my credit was bad, but through the grace of God I met someone who doesn’t check credit! I’ve been a victim of identity fraud, and it has really done some damage. I’m meeting with the landlord next Wednesday or Thursday to go ahead and sign the lease hopefully.

BUT, I’m in urgent need of financial help to move into a safe and stable home. I’m raising funds to cover the upfront costs: security deposit, first month’s rent, application fees, and utilities. Altogether, I’m trying to raise $1,500 to get us out of this tight spot and into a place where my kids can feel safe and at peace again. I didn’t plan on taking anything with us when we left besides our clothes but as far as furniture goes, I just don’t trust it. So on top of all that, we will pretty much be starting all over. I have $1,000 between me and the help of my sweet church. This house should have never been rented, but I was in such a hurry to move. I wasn’t patient and I’ve had nothing but trouble ever since I’ve lived out here.

I’m working 2 jobs and I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat, but between bills, and the cost of living, this is more than I can manage on my own. I’ve called every agency I can find, and while some have been kind, the resources just aren’t available right now. That’s why I’m reaching out—humbly and with hope—asking for support from anyone who feels led to help.
