Destiny Winn is a 26-year-old friend of mine who is currently facing homelessness in Grand Saline, Texas. She has no family support except for a grandfather who unfortunately cannot take her in, leaving her alone in the world. Destiny is highly intelligent and has big dreams—she plans to attend college once she has a safe place to stay. Right now, she is on the streets, exposed to blistering heat and unsafe conditions, and surrounded by people who are not good for her. She rarely gets to sleep and has no food, shelter, or resources to help her get back on her feet.

I am on disability and have been helping Destiny as much as I can, sending her what little I can spare for food and drinks. I even got her a phone, but my resources are limited and I cannot provide enough to get her off the streets. Destiny needs a safe room in Grand Saline, basic necessities like food, drinks, and clothes (shirts size 3x, shorts/pants size 20, shoes size 10), and a tent with a portable A/C to help her cope with the heat. She also needs to replace her expired ID and birth certificate so she can get a job and start college. Destiny is surrounded by street people who are not good for her, but she has so much potential for success in life—she just needs some helping hands to get started.
