I know this is long, but PLEASE read!
My name is Jess and I started this gofundme for my daughter, Destiny and her family. In July we found out that our second grand baby on the way (Little Peanut) has a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. He has a hole in his diaphragm. His stomach, spleen and some bowel are up through the hole. His heart is pushed over to the right side and due to lack of space, his lungs have only been able to develop about 50%. Destiny was referred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where they have a whole team who specializes in this. Peanut will be unable to breath on his own after birth and will need to be on a ventilator. Once he is stable he will need surgery within the first week to close the hole. Once the surgery is done, his lungs need to take time to develop. This could take a few months. That whole time he will be in the NICU and getting 24/7 specialized care. Destiny, Josh and Waylon will be in Philly as long as Peanut is hospitalized.

My daughter, Destiny, son-in-law, Josh and their one year old son, Waylon have relocated to Philly a few days ago to near the hospital. They are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house a mile from CHOP which is wonderful. Dinner is supplied every evening but they are on their own for breakfast and lunch. The 3 of them will be basically be living out of a hotel room which is stressful just for adults, but add in a one year old and it becomes even more stressful.

On top of all that Josh, who works at Fort Indiantown Gap, has been furloughed due to the government shut down. This precious little family has ZERO income right now. They need to be able to buy food for themselves and Waylon, buy Waylon's necessities, and there is still all their bills from home to pay like utilities and rent. Those things is what the money raised will be used for.

Josh gets paid Paternity leave once Peanut is born, but again, with the government shutdown, he won't see any of that money until it reopens. The 3 of them have enough to deal with right now with all the impending medical issues with the new baby, I would love to bless them with some financial help to ease some of the burden. There is a Target and Walmart nearby that they can drive to for food and diapers so gift cards for those places are a great idea also.

Please contact me, Jess (Destiny's mom), with any questions. I will be traveling to Philly weekly for a few days so I can get things to them.
