My name is Denisha, and I am reaching out during the most difficult time of my life. I am a mother to two disabled children, and we have been facing a domestic violence situation that has grown more dangerous over time. Yesterday morning, our lives changed forever when my home was set on fire in a brazen act of arson at 3:30am. Thankfully, due to the circumstances surrounding the domestic violence, my children and I were not at home at the time. But we have lost everything—my 10-year-old’s diabetic supplies, my 3-year-old’s medicated creams for her ichthyosis, our beds, mattresses, appliances, and even my salon equipment. Everything we owned is gone.
Right now, our most urgent needs are finding safe housing and replacing my son’s insulin, which his insurance will not cover for an early refill. I have to pay cash for his medication, and we need to replace all of our essentials, especially the medical supplies my children rely on every day. The loss is overwhelming, but I am determined to keep my children safe and healthy as we rebuild our lives from scratch.
Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. Your kindness and generosity will help me find stability, restore my children’s health, and give me hope for a safer future. I am deeply grateful for any help during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for reading my story and for standing with me.
