Demou has lived in Manchester for 12 years, before that he lived in Bury for 2 years.

Demou has been waiting for 12 years on a decision from the Home Office and being in this state of limbo has caused stress. This has taken a big toll on Demou's mental health.

Because Demou is waiting to appeal, he is not receiving any support (financial or housing) from the Home Office. Before coming to the UK, Demou was working as a security guard in Kinshasa in the Congo. But since arriving in England, the Home Office have told Demou that he is not eligible to work. We're raising money for basic living costs to help Demou finance his needs here in the UK.
