Hello, my name is Letitia. As you have seen we have been doing a Gofundme to help ua get back on our feet. However, it all changed on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025.
My fiance and I were standing on the sidewalk in front of the liquor store. I'm Arvada on Ralston and Wadsworth bypass a couple stores down from the Tavern.
We were standing there waiting for Lyft to pick us up to go and get our daughter from school.
I was on my phone with my doctor's office. I turned towards the wall while I was on the phone so I could hear the lady I was speaking to better.
When suddenly in the matter of seconds, I was on the ground, and a car was in the building.
I started yelling for Bill (my fiancé). I didn't see him. I was crying and yelling for him.
Suddenly, pain started going through my knees, and my Neuropace started hurting.
It is a battery machine that has replaced a piece of my skull. It has cords attached to it that run through my brain to strips implanted to stop my seizures because I have Epilepsy.
As the pain kicked in and I was screaming and crying, I still could not hear Bill.
Ambulances arrived, and as they were putting me in, I was going ballistic because I wanted to know where Bill was.
When I got to the ER, two very kind and amazing officers from the Arvada Police Depertment, let me know what happened.
They said Bill saw the car coming and pushed me out of the way.
One of the officers went to our daughter's school and picked her up. Gave her a stuffed animal and spent time with her as we waited to find out what was going on with me and Bill.
In the meantime, Bill was in another room dealing with broken and fractured bones in both legs and ankles.
The car threw him into the store.
The next day after Bill's first surgery, I was able to see him.
The fiest thing he said was he was glad to see that I was ok.
I asked him why did he push me out of the way and he said my job is to always make sure you and our daughter are safe and I coupd handle the chance I could have lost you.
His first surgery they put two rods and 11 screws in his right leg. 6 of the screws are in his leg, and the last 5 are in his ankle.
He has to undergo another surgery next week. They will be fixing his left ankle and putting a plate in his right knee.
Now we need help. We have been staying at the VOA in Denver on E colfax near Sheridan.
We keep our daughter in school here in Advada and I was up for two interviews for a job here in Arvada, and Bill was working in Arvada.
Now we need help to get a home or AirBnB (for a few months) as I help Bill and as he spends months in a wheelchair doing physical therapy to walk again as ge heals and his body adjusts to his screws and plates.
I am asking for help. The VOA won't let us have some family or friends come over who could help him while I work for him and our daughter.
So that is why your donations can help us get a place in Arvada that has no stairs and can fit a wheelchair in it. We also need a vehicle that can fit him in it while he deals with being in a wheelchair for months and doing physical therapy in Arvada.
Any donations of money or of a place we can stay while we get back on our feet can help.
